Why Parents Trust Me

Hi, I'm Sian Russell, a qualified Sleep Consultancy Practitioner and experienced educator with a passion for supporting children and families.

I hold a Level 3 qualification in Sleep Consultancy Practice and a BA (Hons) in Primary Education with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Throughout my career, I have worked with children and young people across a variety of settings, giving me a broad understanding of child development, learning, behaviour, and family dynamics.

My experience includes working in childcare settings with infants and toddlers, teaching in primary schools, and delivering Level 1, 2, and 3 Childcare courses within further education. I currently work in further education supporting young people with a range of additional learning needs (ALN), with a particular focus on social, emotional, and behavioural development by following a trauma informed approach.

Why I Became a Sleep Consultant

My journey into sleep consultancy began when my daughter welcomed her son into the world. Like many families, she faced significant sleep challenges during those early months, and watching her navigate the exhaustion and uncertainty brought back vivid memories of my own experiences when my son was a baby.

I remembered just how difficult sleep deprivation can be and the impact it can have on every aspect of family life. However, having a very different experience with my second child gave me valuable perspective and showed me that every child is unique. It reinforced my belief that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to sleep and that every family deserves support that is tailored to their individual circumstances.

Wanting to support my daughter, I immersed myself in researching infant sleep, exploring the evidence, learning about child development, and discovering practical approaches that could help families achieve better sleep.

What started as a desire to help my daughter soon became a genuine passion. The more I learned, the more I realised how many families struggle with sleep challenges and how valuable personalised, evidence-based support can be. That journey ultimately inspired me to change my career path and train as a sleep consultant.

Today, I combine my professional experience working with children and young people, my educational background, and my personal understanding of family sleep challenges to support parents with compassion, empathy, and practical guidance.

My goal is simple: to help families achieve restful nights and better days.
